The Holy Grail - Quest to Reach the Front Page of Digg.com

June 17, 2007 – 2:21 pm

Similar to finding the holy grail, I have thus far found reaching the front page of Digg.com an elusive feat. So I began a quest… I have scoured the Internet looking for the one true answer… the result… this list of resources aimed at finding any webmasters dream… how to get on the front page of digg.com. In the spirit of full disclosure, my motives are 1) get the word about ThemBid.com out to the early adoptors and 2) see if our server can withstand the digg.com effect.

After searching far and wide (the great plains of google), here are the best resources I was able to find on the subject:

  1. The Digg Algorithm - Unofficial FAQ
  2. Tips from a Top 10 Digg user on how to get to the Frontpage
  3. Beginner’s Guide to Digg
  4. How To Prevent Your URL From Getting Banned On Digg
  5. Digg makes it harder to get dugg
  6. How To Game Digg In 5 Steps or Less
  7. Digg It!
  8. Digg Friends
  9. More on Digg Friends
  10. Dirty Tricks to get Dugg
  11. The 100% guaranteed way to get a front page story on Digg! (MY FAVORITE)

You must Digg this article if it is to be a true resource about getting to the front page of Digg.com :) If for no other reason… Kevin Rose said so (jk)!

  2. Nice list! Thanks.

I managed to get dugg every month without any of those, so I guess good content works as well. :)

  3. How long have you been contributing to digg.com? BTW, I look at your submitted stories… good stuff. Do you mind sharing your methods of seeking out your content?

  4. Also the title and the description you use matter a lot. I’ve seen people submitting stories way before someone else submits them and the latter only makes it to the front page while the other gets ignored. I wonder how much it matters if you have digg friends.

  5. I’ve found that having digg friends matters alot. It is important to not only have digg friends but digg their articles as well. It also helps for you to digg upcoming stories because often they will digg you in return.

Note that I suggest that you only digg articles that are interesting to you.
