What time during the day/evening do YOU program best?
June 10, 2007 – 11:10 pmI am not talking about the 9-5 job you work at. I am talking about you open source developers and casual programmers. I am talking about the time that you like to kick back and create something fun on your own time.
Evenings works best for me because during the regular day, I deal with meetings and other tasks that prevent me from doing my own thing. Right now, I am not really programming but reading ‘The Definitive Guide to Symfony’. This framework is really something else. I’d like to compare Symfony with an analogy, ‘Programming in PHP is like riding a bike to work, as Symfony is like riding a car to work’. You have to invest some time to understand the way Symfony works. Once you do, you can create many applications really quickly and be fun at the same time.
There is no such thing as programming in the morning for me. I stay up too late to even consider programming in the morning. I really enjoy the Starbucks environment; it’s the perfect blend of other people studying and quiet time.
What time of the day and what environment do you prefer to work in? I want to know because sometimes I feel I am not alone in this!

Evenings are good for me too cause i’m left alone, Around 3am is the best when juiced up on coffee and red bull.

Evenings work for me also. Too much light/noise during the day.
