Managing Your CraigsList Posts
November 21, 2007 – 10:15 amI have had great success using CraigsList to buy and sell both products and services, as well as find employees and odd jobs. One problem I have faced is organizing all of the responses. I would usually receive a whole bunch of e-mails that I would then have to sort out and put into an spreadsheet. Here is a method I recently used to solve that problem.
I needed to get my logo vectorized and I did not have time to do it. So I decided to post the request at CraigsList, but have the freelancers respond to me via ThemBid.com.
The result is 16 bids to date, with prices ranging from $70 to $3. The bidding process is transparent and encourages competition. The comment board helped me clarify the details early on.
I knew the job would be easy, so I was surprised at the initial high bids. It was interesting to see the price decrease as time went on.
Here are steps I took:
1. Posted request at CraigsList
2. Posted request at ThemBid
3. Added this to the end of my request: Please direct all responses to [link to request on ThemBid]
Now, step 1 and 3 are not needed, ThemBid will automatically repost your request for you similar to vFlyer and Postlets, saving you a few steps.
Next on my to do list: Think of all things I need done for the holidays that I don’t feel like doing and post them at ThemBid.
What do you need done?
